This is the latest news about Younis Khan to Mentor Afghanistan in Champions Trophy. For ICC Champions Trophy 2025, former Pakistan’s cricket team captain Younis Khan has been appointed as the mentor for Afghanistan cricket team. This news is also confirmed by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Wednesday, the board has issued a statement that Younis Khan will join the Afghanistan cricket team before the ICC Champions Trophy begins in Pakistan.
Younis Khan has also served as a batting coach of Afghanistan cricket team in 2022. If we look at his career then he has a total 0f 10,099 runs in 118 Test. His appointment will run from 19 February to 9 March 2025 and ACB is expecting that he will provide additional guidance to Afghanistan cricket team through his experience.

As said by Sayeed Naseem Sadat, the spokesperson for the ACB, Younis Khan will join the team before the event starts in Pakistan. Younis Khan was the captain of Pakistan team when Pakistan won the 2009 ICC T20 World Cup. He has served in different coaching roles. In Abu Dhabi T10 League he served as head coach for the Bangla Tigers and in PSL as a stint with Peshawar Zalmi.
