This is the latest news about Kashmir Solidarity Day. To demonstrate their unwavering support for the oppressed people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and the international Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora are preparing to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5. This year’s observance is especially important because it coincides with growing human rights abuses and repression by Indian authorities in the occupied territory.

To draw attention to the Kashmir issue, political parties, activists, and members of the public in Pakistan and AJK are planning symposiums, peace walks, and rallies. In an effort to increase global awareness of India’s ongoing atrocities in IIOJK, Pakistani embassies overseas are also actively planning events, such as documentary screenings.
Mass rallies are planned to raise awareness of the demand for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, which has been denied for 78 years despite being acknowledged by the UN, and special prayers will be offered nationwide in remembrance of the martyrs of Kashmir. Posters thanking Pakistan for its ongoing support and asking people to mark February 5 as a Black Day against Indian occupation have appeared in Srinagar and other districts of occupied Kashmir.
Meanwhile, media representatives, members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora, and embassy officials are planning a commemorative event at the Pakistani Embassy in Brussels. To highlight the tenacity of Kashmiris and their ongoing fight for independence, a documentary exposing human rights abuses in the region will be shown.
In order to ensure that many people participate in the events scheduled for February 5, the government declared the day a public holiday in both Pakistan and AJK.
