Jofra Archer: England’s Fastest Bowler to get 50 ODI Wickets

During the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, England pacer Jofra Archer made history by becoming the nation’s fastest bowler to reach 50 ODI wickets. Archer beat James Anderson’s previous record of 31 games to accomplish the feat in his 30th match.

In England’s Group B match against Afghanistan at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the 29-year-old achieved the milestone. His strike in the fifth over removed Rahmanullah Gurbaz, and four balls later, it also removed Sediqullah Atal. In the Champions Trophy, Archer became the first bowler from England to take three wickets inside the powerplay when he sent Rahmat Shah back to the pavilion to claim his third wicket.
