This is the latest news about Bapsi Sidhwa. On December 25, 2024, in Houston at the age of 86, a celebrated female novelist and one of the most prominent voices in South Asian English literature, Bapsi Sidhwa, passed away. She was known for her literary works like Ice Candy Man and The Crow Eaters. As stated by her family, her memorial services would take place over 3 days in Houston, where she had resided in her last days.

She was born in Karachi to a Parsi family, on August 11, 1938. Later she grew up in Lahore and faced many challenges, including surviving polio. After completing her education at Kinnaird College in Lahore, she began her writing career. For her contributions to literature, she was awarded with numerous honors, including Pakistan’s Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
