This is the latest news about Azaad Box Office collection. On its opening day, January 17, Azaad had a slow start despite the well-planned promotions and the acting debuts of Aaman Devgan, Ajay Devgn’s nephew, and Rasha Thadani, Raveena Tandon’s daughter. Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency and Abhishek Kapoor’s film clashed at the box office, which is what caused the former’s poor box office performance. Azaad only made Rs 1.5 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
Emergency, however, jumped ahead with Rs 2.35 crore. The morning shows had a dismal 5% occupancy rate, according to Azaad. However, the occupancy rate for the night shows was 26%. Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani were used extensively in the film’s marketing, appearing at various events around the nation to generate excitement among viewers. Even before she made her acting debut, Rasha was well-known among fans due to her frequent appearances in front of paparazzi.
It should be mentioned that Abhishek Kapoor previously brought in new actors like Sara Ali Khan in Kedarnath and Sushant Singh Rajput in Kai Po Che. Both of these films won praise from viewers and went on to become successful. In contrast to the reaction they got, it looks like Azaad will struggle to bounce back from its underwhelming premiere and make a sizable profit at the box office.

When Kai Po Che was released in 2013, it made Rs 18 crore on its first weekend and Rs 4.5 crore on its first day of release. Additionally, during its domestic run, it made Rs 50 crore. In 2018, five years after Kai Po Che’s release, Kedarnath earned Rs 6.8 crore on its first day of release and Rs 27 crore on its first weekend. According to Bollywood Hungama, the movie brought in a total of Rs 66 crore at home.
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, Abhishek Kapoor’s final movie, opened at Rs 3.5 crore and made Rs 28 crore domestically. But Azaad, his most recent release, had the worst opening of any of his films. Azaad takes place in British India during a contentious political period. The film features Ajay Devgn and Diana Penty in addition to debutants Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani.
