Ramadan will start on March 1 if the moon is visible on Friday night following the Maghrib, or sunset, prayer. On the other hand, the holy month will start on March 2 if the crescent moon is not visible. The ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar is Ramadan, which is regarded by Muslims as the most sacred month.
Muslims abstain from eating, drinking, smoking, and other bodily necessities during the month of Ramadan. Iftar is the meal eaten at sunset to break the fast, and Suhoor is the meal eaten before dawn before the fast starts.
